Growing up...

Aylen was born in a small house in the woods. Her parents had went to live there after her mother had ran away from home many years before. Her mother was suppose to marry another man. But, she fell in love with her father according to them at first sight. She had always loved the story growing up. Her mother not wanting to be with anyone else left her home behind to go with her father.

They settled on the outskirts of small village within the woods that were nearby. It was there home for many years and they were happy and one day they give birth to their only child, Aylen. She had two loves growing up the woods around her and books. Both which she pursued with all her being.

She knew the woods like the back of her hands exploring them from the time she was old enough to walk. And her love of stories grew into a love of books. Her mother used to tell her all sorts of tales and she grew to want to hear more. She learned to love the written word and read everything she got her hands on.

It was these two things that would lead her to met what she believed was the third love of her life besides of course her family. Something that she hadn't expected to find.

A Meeting of Souls...

She was wandering in the woods when she came across a man. He was different than others she had met. He seemed to in awe of everything around him. It was like he was experiencing the world a new or something. She followed him interested in what he was doing.

In time she came to know him and they became close friends. He would come and visit her and they would walk together. She discovered he didn't know how to read so she taught him. Opening up a whole new world for the man. She introduced him to stories and poems. She taught him how to write and like her he had a love for words.

He loved books as much as she did and slowly they became closer and closer. One day the two of them admitted that they loved each other and he asked her to marry him. She was never happier in her life. She wanted nothing more than to spend her life with this man.

The two of them got married and lived in a small village just like her parents before her. They built their home and had four children together. Her husband got a job teaching in the village and she thought that it would be like this forever. She didn't know that somethings were not meant to be.

Haunted by the Past...

There were things about her husband that she was unaware of at the time things that would come to life by a man named Narcis. Narcis would be someone she came to care about very much. He befriended her one day the only thing was she didn't know that Narcis had secrets of his own.

Narcis was the son of the man that her mother had been promised to marry all those years ago. He had decided that her mother's scorn of his father couldn't go unpunished and set out to find her to do just that. Narcis was a very powerful man. His mother had decided she wanted to have a child strong enough to rule over her people. And she had found him in the fairy that was Narcis's father. They two came to an arrangement and thus Narcis was born.

Narcis was everything his mother hoped he would be and he did take control of her people. He became the witch king. He loved both his parents and they loved him very much. And as such he wanted to punish the woman who had in his eyes declared his father not good enough. However, he would find that she was dead by the time he found her.

This didn't deter him. He decided he would enact his revenge upon her daughter, the product of the union that made the woman leave his father. So, he befriended Aylen in hopes of getting her to trust him.

He cast a spell on her and little by little the spell confused her mind. She began to trust Narcis and believe what he told her. He told her that her husband had a secret. And it was actually true her husband did have a secret one he had never told her in fear of her reaction.

He was a dragon and once upon a time had belonged to another. An angel who was friend's with Narcis's father. Narcis saw this fact as a way to make the pain pay for leaving his master as well as revenge against Aylen's mother. He was never one to look a gift horse in the mouth as the saying goes.

He told her that her husband was a monster and that it was his intent to have children with a mortal and feed them to demons. That he had done this countless times before with other woman. He told her he could prove it and gave her a spell that would force her husband into his true form. It was true that he had another form--his dragon. It was also true the spell would trigger illusions in her own mind that would be the finally driving force to her madness that he had been planting since he had met her.

Truth Revealed...

At first she didn't believe him. It was silly she knew her husband. He was the kindness person she had ever met. But, it nagged at her and the illusions were beginning to poison her mind. She began to doubt and she rushed home with all sorts of images in her head about what could be happening. She ran through the woods as if it was alive. She almost could feel the monsters trying to stop her as she moved.

She ran into her house and said the spell to see the man she loved with all her heart change before her eyes. He became a dragon. Not being able to process what she was seeing the illusions became worst. She saw her kids as demons that had killed her children and were eating them.

She was desperate and pulled them off. She beat the demons that were hurting her children unable to see the truth. That there were no demons only her own kids. Her husband came to believe she killed them because she thought them monsters like the monster she thought him to be.

A fact that was confirmed by her telling them such. He didn't understand she wasn't seeing them as they were but seeing the illusions created by Narcis. He did what he could to save them but failed to do so. He fled with them hoping to get help for those that were injured.

She took off after him trying to stop him from helping the demons as she believed them to be. But, he simply turned around and breathed ice fire at her freezing her solid in her place.

Death and New Beginnings...

She died that day and would have stayed such if it wasn't for Narcis. He took pity on her or perhaps he wasn't done toying with her. At any rate he did a spell to bring her back. She owned him her life and swore to stay by his side. he was her only friend left in the world.

A world that she now hated. She disliked most people except for Narcis whom she trusts with her whole being. He was the one that opened her eyes the truth. What was born that day was something different than the woman she had been. She swore that she would get revenge on the man who destroyed her life--her husband. She became a form of vengeance her life about nothing but making him pay for his crimes. Crimes that she is unaware were her own.

A Strange Twist...

It might have continued this way till she found Ais and made him pay or forever if it wasn't for the spell. The spell made it so she was connected to Narcis and he needed to redo the spell every so often. She craved his touch and she needed to take his blood from time to time. When he brought her back most of her soul had moved on. He was only able to call back a small piece of her essence. So, he used a piece of himself to make it work. Thus binding her to him for all time. Something that she didn't mind. He was after all her most trusted friend.

However, in time the spell would seem to break down. The small bits that he gave her didn't seem to be working. She seemed to be fading. Narcis had come to care about her in her time by his side and was determined to find a way to keep her alive. That way he believed was in finding the person who held her newly reborn soul and reconnecting the two.

This would be fond in the girl Aliya. A girl who had befriend her ex-husband. The man that she hadn't seen for all these centuries. Narcis didn't tell her of his plan. He only told her that the girl needed to be keep safe lest she fall victim to the demon like she had all those years ago. Aylen wanted no one to suffer that fate and it would give her a chance to get back at Ais. So, she set out to take the girl and hide her from him.

It would be because of this she would come to learn the truth. She fought with her husband and he confronted her about killing their children. She told him she hadn't killed the demons he had sent to kill their children. Somewhere during this fight the truth came out. Her ex was upset because his wife had been tricked and she was heartbroken to learn what she had done to her own family.

Unsure what to do she fled to confront Narcis about the truth and his role in it. He confessed to her his role. But, insisted that he loves her and had come to love her and wanted nothing to happen to her now. She was hurt and confused. She should want to hurt him like the man she had believed was responsible all those years. But, she found that her quest for revenge no longer held any appeal. Perhaps, because of her own role in the mess. She decided to wipe her hands of it.

He told her he needed the girl to save her. That he would kill the girl to make sure she lived and she told him that her time was over. She should have died with her kids all those centuries ago and that was the fate she wanted now. She no longer had a purpose it was her desire to fade away. Narcis told her he wouldn't let her fade away. She told him that he had no choice in the matter and walked away.

It was the last time she saw any of them. She left her husband to find a new life with her new self. He deserved that for what she had done for him. She had changed him from the wonderful man she had known to a heartless jerk. She hoped that her other self could mend the hurt. She simply wanders now waiting to fade the rest of the way.
